HYBRID VOLTAGE CONVERTER
The Inverter performs critical functions for hybrid vehicle powertrains. The converter/inverter is responsible for transforming the high-voltage battery’s direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) that is used by the drive motor to propel the vehicle.
When braking, the converter/inverter will rectify the alternating current from the generator into direct current to charge the battery. Some converter/inverter’s also provide voltage to recharge the vehicle battery or power electrical systems.
